About Us

Since its inception in 1989, Independent Auto Appraisal Ltd. has enjoyed a controlled steady growth and has become well known within the Insurance Industry as a reliable source for:

• actual cash value/total

• mechanical reports for warranty purposes
• off lease evaluations

We endeavour to carry out our responsibilities while showing the utmost care and respect for the Insured and/or Claimant, in order to maintain the good relationship between themselves and the Insurer.

We currently appraise damage to almost anything that runs or can be towed. If for any reason we are unable to supply an appraisal for a certain type of vehicle, we will notify you immediately. We also write Actual Cash Value reports for the insurance needs of antique/special interest vehicle owners and their Insurers, from our Burnside office.

Independent Auto Appraisal Ltd. services the Nova Scotia mainland. We have a Halifax/Dartmouth office that covers the Central and Northern regions of Nova Scotia, with five appraisers. While our Sydney Office covers the Cape Breton region of Nova Scotia and the Yarmouth-South Shore Office covers the Yarmouth-South Shore region, with one appraiser in each location. We can also supply service throughout Atlantic Canada using our affiliation with the Atlantic Appraisal Alliance and its members, thereby saving you effort by locating the nearest competent and qualified Appraiser on your behalf.

All of our appraisers are I-Car Trained and certified. We use ADP and Mitchell programming products for our computerized appraisals and our total loss reports have the option of ADP Autosource or manually generated evaluations, depending on our customers' preferences. Our appraisal staff is licensed within the Automobile Insurance Appraisers Association of Nova Scotia. We are a founding member of both the Atlantic Appraisal Alliance and the Alliance Appraisal Group. Our fees are very competitive and our service is second to none. Turnaround times are kept to a minimum, thereby reducing rental and incidental costs.
